DUFFIELD — Natural Tunnel State Park invites visitors to come learn valuable outdoor skills from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28.
The free program will show how ordinary, every day objects can actually save your life.
Hands-on skills will focus on a variety of topics, such as packing a hiking bag correctly to setting up a tent to a one-match fire.
The program will take place at the Visitor Center parking lot.
Immediately following the outdoor skills program, the park will host the Longhunters Run Kayak Trip from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Spend the afternoon floating nine miles down the Clinch River, a Class II Rapid.
For more information on the outdoor skills program or the kayak trip, call (276) 940-2674. Pre-registration for the kayak trip is required. The trip is open to anyone age 13 and older. Cost is $25 per person.
For your comfort and safety, appropriate footwear is required — no flip-flops, crocs or sandals. And no pets allowed.comments powered by Disqus
