Blountville man accused of having sexual relations with two children under 10

Robert Michael Dalbey, 54

A Blountville man has been indicted on two counts of aggravated sexual battery after it is alleged he had sex with two young girls.

Robert Michael Dalbey, 54, Blountville, was indicted by a Sullivan County Grand jury during their Aug. 26 session. He was arrested on the charges Sept. 3 and booked into the Sullivan County Jail.

According to the presentment made to the grand jury, Dalbey is alleged to have knowingly, intentionally and feloniously had sexual contact with a child under the age of seven. In the same month, it is alleged he also had sexual contact with a child under the age of 10.

Aggravated sexual battery is a class B felony and carries a sentence of between 8 and 30 years for each charge, if Dalbey is convicted.

The Sullivan County District Attorney's office declined to go into details about the charge or how they became aware of the allegations.

Dalbey is currently in the Sullivan County Jail being held on $15,000 bond.
