The Union Bears traveled across state lines to take on the Davy Crockett Pioneers in the first meeting of the two squads. Coming off of an overtime thriller with Richlands last week, the Bears kept their early-season momentum and took a hard-fought 41-32 win over the Pioneers.
Union flexed its muscle for most of the game relying on a balanced running attack with backs Devan Summers, Braxton Bishop and Cameron Fannon. Union also took to the air with quarterback Bryce Spears to keep the Pioneers defense on its toes.
The Pioneers used lightning-quick speed on offense to keep the contest tight into the final minutes, but the Bears held on for the win.
Summers and wideout Raashaun Noaks each contributed multiple touchdowns to the Bears' efforts. Union improves to 3-0 on the season and returns home to Bullitt Park next week as they host Ridgeview.
