Mauk 50th anniversary
James Edward and Carol Jean (Lewis) Mauk of Kingsport celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren.
The couple was married Aug. 28, 1965, in Gate City, Va.
They are the parents of Vickie (Wes) Burdine of Kingsport, Lisa Cody of Irving, Texas, Jamie Mauk of Kingsport, and Tracie (Jeremy) Webb of Kingsport. They are the grandparents of Caysie Butcher, Jordin Webb, Ashley Webb, Isaac Webb and Levi Webb.
Mr. Mauk retired from Eastman Chemical Co. Mrs. Mauk retired from H&R Block.
Both are active members of the Central Baptist Association, where Mr. Mauk, a minister for 43 years, serves as moderator.
Elder 100th birthday
Hazel Irene Huff Elder will celebrate her 100th birthday with a reception to be held in her honor from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Greeneville in Greeneville, Tenn.
The event is being hosted by her family.
Hazel was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Chattanooga. She was married to Edward J. Huff and Isom Elder, and is the mother of seven children, four of whom are still living, and two stepdaughters. She also has 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Harris 60th anniversary
The Rev. T Richard and Shirley Ann Starnes Harris of Kingsport will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Christmas at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Va., where they honeymooned in 1955.
The couple was married Aug. 19. 1955, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Kingsport.
Mr. Harris retired from Tennessee Eastman Co. and also pastored many area Baptist Churches, including New Bethel Baptist, Nickelsville, Va.; New Lebanon Baptist, Baileyton, Tenn.; Oak Grove Baptist, Kingsport; and many others. He has been an ordained Baptist pastor since Feb. 4, 1959.
Mrs. Harris retired from the cooking staff at John Sevier Middle School. She also worked in area retail stores and always supported the work of her husband in local churches.
Stidham and Bruner
Grace Elizabeth Stidham of Hiltons, Va., and William Cody Bruner of Yuma, Va., plan to be married at 4 p.m., Sept. 5, 2015, at Hiltons United Methodist Church.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Tim and Beverly Stidham of Hiltons, and the granddaughter of Shirley Gardner of Hiltons and the late Carlton Gardner, and the late Stewart and Georgia Stidham of Appalachia, Va. She graduated from Gate City High School in 2012 and will receive her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from King University in December 2015. She is employed at Eastman Credit Union.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Bill and Tina Bruner of Yuma, and the grandson of Fred and Sherry Bellamy of Yuma, and the late Charles and Laura Bruner of Yuma. He graduated from Gate City High School in 2010 and received an Electro-Mechanical degree from Mountain Empire Community College. He is employed at Eastman Chemical Co.
Daugherty 50th anniversary
Edwin “Ed” Lee Daugherty Jr. and Betty Cassell Daugherty of Kingsport celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 15, 2015, with a dinner held in their honor at Chop House.
The event was hosted by family and friends.
The couple was married Aug. 15, 1965, at Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, Bristol, Va., with the Rev. Calvin Bailey officiating.
They are the parents of Anita (Richard) Vickers and Renee (David) Sewell, both of Kingsport. They are the grandparents of Carter Vickers, Eden Vickers and Cam Sewell.
Mr. Daugherty retired from Sullivan County Schools and Virginia Highlands Community College. Mrs. Daugherty is a retired homemaker.
