Wrong way: Hawkins man charged with drug trafficking after making an illegal turn

A wrong turn Tuesday afternoon in Rogersville resulted in a Hawkins County man being pulled over and allegedly caught missing 45 Valium pills from a prescription he'd filled only hours earlier.

A male suspect was located in his vehicle along Henson Road by deputies and was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He too was transported to BRMC for treatment. Police say all the victims and the suspect appear to be related.

A reckless driving charge was dismissed Wednesday against a Hawkins County man who reportedly peeled out and threw burned rubbed on the police car that was attempting to pull him over Tuesday afternoon.

A man sought by Florida authorities following a double homicide in that state on Thursday was apprehended Thursday night by Norton police officers investigating a 911 call from a female driver she was being harassed.

A Hawkins County woman who was allegedly sleeping when her 3-year-old child was found walking down the middle of a public street on June 30 will next appear in Hawkins County Sessions Court Nov. 18.

Both Johnson brothers were among the first firefighters to respond to the barn fires. Moseley and Christian also came to the scene to watch the fire. Other firefighters at the scene reported their suspicions about the four that night at the fire scene.

Shortly before noon, a woman called police to report an incident of indecent exposure. While traversing a trail near the Weir Dam recreation area with her dog, she encountered a completely nude man "standing in front of her" and touching himself.

Three men including two former firefighters were named in sealed indictments Monday, and are charged along with a Hawkins County teen who allegedly set two simultaneous barn fires on the property of a THP trooper this past February.
